empowering through education
From permaculture workshops, fundraisers and summer camps to the cultivation of an accessible landscape for diverse groups, the education and outreach component of our mission is foundational to our family values. We are hosting three, week long summer camps in 2019, which will immerse kids in outdoor play in an agricultural, wooded, rural setting. We’ll be constructing a hobbit house, examining local flora and fauna through microscopes and learning about how to grow flowers and harvest food. We will continue to host permaculture/edible landscape design classes and workshops, free to the public, and are partnering with our local high school to offer this space for use as a campus for their new agricultural program. We want our community to be empowered with the knowledge of how to cultivate accessible, low cost, edible landscapes. Each year, we will be hosting our May plant giveaway, sending out plant starts into the community with the hope that they will feed the future.
